I keep forgetting to post this here, but I finished the second Clapotis. And here it is, along with my hair in all its needing-to-be-cut, Houston-is-freaking-humid nastiness.

This was made from New Wool that was handpainted by lidika, and of course is the ever famous and popular Clapotis.

I had so much fun knitting this one, and it flew by. It wasn’t without mistakes — I got so caught up reading Harry Potter websites that I purled instead of knit on part of a row, and only figured it out much later.

I will be making another one soon … or three. Seriously, these are wonderful scarves/wraps, and I am going to just keep knitting these for therapy and Christmas gifts.

Cavern of unfinished socks

Okay, so now my brother has two unfinished socks in my possession. I get so far in a sock and then suddenly I’m attacked by rampant knitter’s paranoia. Is this the wrong yarn for this project? Is this pattern completely off? Will this sock be any good, or will he be making sock puppets for the cats out of it?

The first sock just seemed to be too stretchy and too small. The second attempt at a sock seems to be way too long in the foot and not long enough in the … what do you call that bit at the top? The body? The pipe? The bit at the top? I also think I might run out of yarn since I only have two skeins.

I need a pattern for men’s socks. I know he’s a size 10 shoe, and I need a real pattern that will tell me how much yarn I need and how far to knit on the different parts. Anyone have suggestions?

Just had to show my Secret Pal how much the cat likes the stitch markers, too! Clive helps me knit — a LOT — when I’m using bamboo needles, but he really enjoyed the shiny dangly pieces on the needles this time.

This is my airplane knitting project, another baby sweater that’s being made with the Endless Summer Lara Print from Elann.com. Colorway is Amazon, in case you’re wondering.

Oh, and say good bye to Samantha, at least in its current incarnation. Kailyn is already in 6 - 9 month clothes — she’s 4 months old — and I was knitting the six month size. I think I’ll check how much yarn I have, frog, and do it in the 12 months size.

I’m back in Houston now and have three movies to watch, so it’s time for some therapy Clapotis!
