Alex’s New Sweater
While I was in Atlanta I knit a new sweater for our dog Alex. He’s a strange little beast and loves wearing sweaters. I don’t get it, but I’m happy to make them for him.
It wasn’t my best knitting … I used a new pattern that’s from Paton’s and I’m not sure it was the best one to use. I preferred the one in the “I Can’t Believe I’m Knitting!” book, but this pattern turned out all right. The yarn is Lion Brand Wool-Ease in Cranberry, and I’ve already talked about how much I hate doing any sort of knitting with any type of wool blend.
However, that was not the real challenge … Nieuwy and Stanley, the family cats, proved to be even more helpful than Clive et al. I tucked the knitting under couch cushions, put it in bags, etc., trying to keep it away from them. Well, Mom and I came back one afternoon to find this:
We got them back, though …
Apparently cats don’t like to wear sweaters. They both tolerated getting dressed, but when they felt the sweater on their backs they reared up and backed away as fast as possible. I guess that’ll show them!!

I have so many pictures and so many stories to tell, including how my roommate and friends surprised me with…
Great photos!!! But poor animals…
They deserved it … trust me. ;-)
