Heather’s Scarf

Heather wanted a new scarf for the winter, so I made her one in purple (her favorite color) with Lion Brand’s Thick & Quick Chenile. This is a one-skein scarf that I crocheted, about 4 1/2 inches wide. It is sooo soft!

I treid to take a photo of me with it to share online, but all I kept getting was my head. So I used my normal “model” to pose this time around:

Kasey and Scarf Kasey is sick of posing...

New Project

I am making a new purse from Schachenmayr Paradiso (in black), which is SOOOO darn soft, and Berroco’s Glitz in Vermont Frost. I cannot even explain how cool this thing is coming out. It will be perfect for autumn!

Here is a photo, but I had a hard time getting a true photo. Let’s just say it is sparkly and way cool:

Ooh... sparkly!

I hate wool.

I forgot to say in this post that I’ve started the next project … a sweater for Alex the dog. I’m using WoolEase and got about two inches into it before I started itching, sneezing, and having watery, burning eyes. This is why I don’t knit with wool and only use the cheaper/nicer acrylics. I can’t afford things like silk yarn and anything with wool — even a cheap wool blend like WoolEase — makes me miserable.

The sweater is really, really cute though! It’s a Patons Canadiana pattern that was re-published by Leisure Arts (of course). WoolEase in cranberry will look cute on a fluffy little white doggie.

Ivory Blanket - Finished!

One more post before I get to work and stay buried for the rest of the day …

I finished the ivory blanket! It’s absolutely gorgeous and the softest thing I’ve made. I should mention that this is not my original pattern, it’s from a Leisure Arts pamphlet called “Quick Knit Baby Afghans” or something like that, done by Evelyn Clark. The yarns were Caron Simply Soft Off White (which was more of a pale yellow) and Simply Soft Baby White. It’s an acrylic yarn with a bit of sheen to it, and so soft and fluffy.

I’ll be doing this blanket again soon, this time for a dear friend of mine … :-)

Scrapbooking Squad

It’s been a long time since we got together to go scrapbooking at a late-night crop, and there are more people in the little Bad Girl Scrappers club than just Adelle, Al, and me. We’ve practically taken over the crops by now! Yes, we’re in the lovely romper room again. Anyway, expect to see these people around more and more …

The lovely Tracy, creating another original and creative layout.

I finshed another one…

Purple Purse

I really like this one… I had bought some beaded fringe for it, but I don’t think I am going to add it on. I don’t like how the ribbon looks on it…

Chenile

Heather decided she wanted a scarf, so I am making her one with chenille.

Heather's Scarf

I am doing the pattern in a k1, k1b, and it actually looks pretty cool (even though you cannot really tell from the photo). Open for a close-up:

Taking a Class

I have decided that knitting socks is not easy. Therefore, I signed up for a class at the Woolie Ewe. It’s just for sock making, so I am pretty excited.

Only thing… they wanted a deposit, which they told me was non-refundable, and they have not yet set a date. I told them tough ta-ta’s about the non-refundable part, since they made me sign up but could not tell me what day the class was. Sheesh…
