Scrapbook club: Circle Journals

Adelle and I joined the club at Scrappy’s (yeah, I realize this brings new light to the level of our addiction) and last night was the first meeting of the new club session. Each session lasts six months, and this session there’s a special project to get to know people better. Everyone is supposed to make a “Circle Journal” that has a theme. You journal about your answer to the theme and then every month it gets passed around to someone else … kind of like the memory book thing, only smaller.

So I got all fired up and made mine at the club meeting last night!

I took a piece of embossed cardstock (black), a piece of regular cardstock (cranberry), two pieces of patterned paper, and a piece of patterned vellum, and cut them all in half. These were 12″ x 12 ” pieces, so everything was cut down to 12″ x 6″. I put them in an aesthetically pleasing order, a graduated arrangement, and then used star brads at the top to fasten the pieces together. I trimmed off the overhang paper and then folder the top cardstock over and then tucked it under the brads, making a nice little binding.
(And there will probably be glitter on the front, too. Hurray for sparkles!)

Now people have space on the inside pages to journal, put a photo, etc. The theme for this journal is “Hollywood Glamour Girls”, basically. What movie star do people say you look like, who’s your favorite, etc. I hope it turns out well!
